10AM

“10am” came from a competition producer Kato put together. He supplied the beat, and this was right around the time I first started taking music seriously.

For me, the competition was bigger than just trying to win. I saw it as an opportunity to get my music in front of Kato and potentially build a connection with a producer I wanted to work with.

I ended up losing the competition, but looking back, that’s part of what makes the song important to me. It captures me at the beginning—when I was just starting to really pursue music and looking for any opportunity that could open a door.
