“Feelin’ Peachy” was me feeling like I was that guy in New York and destroying rappers at the same time.
It wasn’t enough for me to say I was better—I wanted the writing itself to prove it.
The record is packed with metaphors, punchlines, double meanings, wordplay and flow changes. The entire point was technical domination. I wanted another rapper to hear it and recognize that while we might technically be making the same kind of music, we weren’t operating at the same level lyrically.
But the flex goes beyond rap.
I was winning in my actual life too—making money, becoming successful and enjoying everything that came with it. So the confidence wasn’t limited to believing I could outrap somebody. I felt like I was winning both on the record and away from it.
That’s what “Feelin’ Peachy” represents to me: technical skill, success and swagger coming together in one record—having fun while trying to completely dismantle the competition with the pen.
