Behind the song

“Ten Gat Commandments” is my ode to The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Ten Crack Commandments.”

I took the numbered-list concept and flipped it into my own version, building the record around ten different firearms that I actually owned.

The structure is deliberately direct and almost instructional in tone, moving from one firearm to the next while mixing specifications, personal references and street imagery.

The point was less about telling a traditional story and more about paying homage to Biggie’s format through something that reflected my own life and environment at the time.

These weren’t just random names I picked for the lyrics. Every firearm referenced in the song was one I actually had, which is part of why the writing is so specific.

Lyrics & wordplay

I dont gotta shoot to kill but its better just to have it

when they come strapped up with them semi automatics

so check this shit i got a list for you to get that way you stay safe

when these dudes they hate

gun number one 12 gauge thats a pump

soon as you cock back they gon run

and even if you miss you still hitting em with some

of the pellets cuz they spread like jelly on a bun

gun number 2 dont get this shit confused

380 small enough to fit ya shoe

but dont these men move with big sticks?

ok just hit his biscuit efficient

i love it like my boo

gun number 3 the most common it seems

9 milli but extended its $550 for the weapon

$650 come with extras uh huh

I done seen mad niggas start with this and turn out to be some killers

number 4 i know you heard this before

ak wit a base 75 to ya face

number 5 you gon need a mac for the get back

cuz you just let em run in ya house, you should address that

6 that 357 heaven

plus it dont jam and it keep all the shells in

7 thats my favorite its the fn

just imagine 2700 per second

20 rounds and its light weight as a lemon

raise the crime rate in ya section

Number 9 what i keep on the side wit me
